You know when something is right and when something is wrong.
You know when something is right and when something is wrong.
Gigi - Emily in Paris. (If you don't watch Emily in Paris on Netflix...do it!).
If you could go back in time and change something, would you or do you simply accept that you did the best you could, with the information you had, at that moment in time?
Would you change your past to change your future?
For me, no.
You are who you are because of your genetics, your upbringing, your surroundings, your choices and your opportunities. I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t make the choices I made previously. I have to accept the good with the bad and that the “right” of then may have been the “wrong” of today.
So, be it a soup, a relationship or a year of travel, you know when something is right and when something is wrong. It’s okay to make wrong decisions as they will shape your future as much as the right ones.
Living life, doing the best that I can with what I’ve got. Learning. Growing. Happy. Sad. Reflecting on a life of choices that I’ve made.
Bringing this back to travel, next up, an Atlantis Gay Cruise. Judge all you want.
I will chose to find my way on the trip I am MOST worried about out of all of the continents and destinations, not “their” way or “your” perception of your way. My way.
I’ve stayed at several gay resorts in the last 12 months and have always had a great time. I’ve made new friendships and connections with people from all over the world. When you get to let your guard down and not have to come out every moment like you do in everyday life, there’s a commonality that joins you.
This will likely either be the best or the worst trip, but I am going into it with an open mind.
Being “this” out in Western Colorado is a different path and a different choice than what I thought my life would look like when I came out for the second time in my life nearly 4 years ago. I do find strength in being unapologetically me, as much as I can, as much as I am comfortable sharing with you.
I appreciate your friendship and support in this trek around the world and in life. You are the people that support me, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. Thank you 😊
Cole
Living my life the only way I know how.
In other updates, Hilton and the Mango House finally agreed to refund my hotel overcharge due to the currency conversion issue with Amex. It’s been an ordeal and multiple emails to corporate and the hotel directly, but they state the refund is being processed and should hit my credit card statement soon.
In another not planned but pivot and make the best of it, I’ve listed my personal house for rent on Airbnb. It’s silly for me to live in the nearly 2000 sq feet of space and since I won’t be here in the country much over the rest of the year, it would likely be the most expensive cat house in Grand Junction. Macie is gonna have to adjust her lifestyle… but, please tell your friends and family. It’s a beautiful house and I would love to host them over the next couple of months.

44 more nights overseas. 74 days left in the year…my year of yes. My year of me.
