Vail - call me Mr. President
A short 2 days back home after Vegas and then I was off to Vail to attend the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association conference. Well, not just attend this year. I was installed as the President of the Board of Directors.
It really is a true honor and likely pinnacle of my mortgage career. As I said in my speech, the trust placed in me by a group of people widely more successful, smarter, caring and let's be completely honest, far better looking...is a true honor.
Charged with passion and compassion for an industry and an association that has given me so much, hopefully I am up for the task.
Colorado mountains in the summertime is my favorite season. Crispy morning air, flowers abound, rivers running. It really doesn't get any better.
The conference went well. Glad that part is over. Now onto the true work.
The other non-profit that I am involved in, the Community Food Bank (Grand Junction), where I am serving a 2nd year as the Board President is in the midst of planning our first big fundraiser event since pre-covid.
The two volunteer roles alongside the everyday work in mortgage lending has been a lot, but a great reminder of how small we are individually but also how much of an impact we can have when we work together.
I marvel at how people work together, look at the same situation so differently, have different ideas and concerns.
Here's to a year of professional growth alongside all of the remaining travel and personal growth. I guess they aren't really different categories, just applied in different settings.
