Tattoos and other things
So it was time to get another tattoo. Why? Why not? Goal is to get my left leg and left arm done in sleeves of American Traditional style. I've always wanted tattoos, but always worried about what I wanted on my body for the rest of my life.
I got my first tattoo back in Aug 2022, not long after my 40th birthday. It was a liberating experience and I immediately felt like a badass. I don't know why, but I guess I was no longer the goodie two shoes and was embracing my inner bad boy.
Starting to prep for the San Francisco trip. With all of the travel booked so quickly, I didn't do a TON of research on the individual destinations in advance. I've learned quickly you call it SF or San Francisco, never San Fran. That's a very Midwestern name and gets you ridiculed on the street.
San Francisco has always been a dream destination. Growing up in the Midwest, we didn't spend a lot of time (or any) on the West Coast. We did a giant driving tour of National Parks, Las Vegas but I didn't see the Pacific Ocean for the first time until my first or second year in college while I was living in Vegas and attending UNLV as a hotel/restaurant major.
I have only been on the US West Coast and handful of times. 2 cruises out of Long Beach, a wedding in Seattle and a work conference in San Diego. I have, however spent a good amount of time on the Mexican Riveria and multiple visits to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo and Mazatlan, both on land and cruise vacations.
Fortunately I've met a few people on just the first few weeks of the Caribbean cruise that call the Bay Area home, and we are planning on getting together while I am in town. Everyone asks what I want to do, and my cannned response is "a day or evening in your everyday life." I don't need to be razzle and dazzled, I just want to see their city thru their eyes. I am curious what that is going to mean and where I'll end up, but I am along for the ride.
Other than that, I am so excited to finally see Dear Evan Hansen on stage. I wouldn't say I am a theater geek, but I do fall inline with LGBTQ cultural stereotypes and thoroughly enjoy a good musical. The National Tour is in SF while I am visiting so I snagged myself a ticket and away I will go. I am sure there will be cable cars, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Warf, Chinatown and all of the expected sightseeing. My Sunday Funday will be a lot different today than last week while I was strolling Lincoln Blvd in Miami Beach, visiting the 12th St Beach and watching the sunset from a rooftop pool party. Miami really knows how it lets it's hair down in a Sunday. If you haven't ever been, it's quite enjoyable!
Signing off for now
