A New Book.

There continues to be a lot of change in my life. Last Nov, I sat here and typed how I was leaving the Main St Charmer and turning it into an Airbnb to allow me to continue to travel.

I sit here a year and a few weeks later and it’s a similar story with a different ending. After moving back into the house in April and having a wonderful time there, The Main St Charmer has served it’s purpose and is listed for sale.

I’ve condensed my entire life into about twenty totes. 42 years of life, memories, possessions that I’ve been worked hard to obtain, largely gone except the memories. The good news, the memories can’t be taken away.

I’ve learned that lesson about memories through a lot of other losses, of much different and more impactful people. Possessions are insignificant. People and experiences are irreplaceable.

So while I continue to work on the experience piece, I’ll be spinning around the world on a level that exceeds 2023. It isn’t a quest with counting continents, instead it’s one of extended periods of time away. Being budget conscious and saving money by traveling. Yes, you heard that right. My life will cost about a 1/3 of what my everyday life costs, and I get to see the world, all while continuing to work. This first journey is 88 nights and 3x as long as any other “trip” that I’ve been on.

The 25 nights in Europe in 2023 won’t even register in the top 5 after 2024 is over. Pinch me.

With all of that, you are hearing (or reading) the version of Cole that’s past the tears of the last several weeks, liquidating and parting with things…memories…a house that had given me a lot of purpose and hope.

This version of Cole is an entire new book. 2023 was a new CHAPTER in an old book, one that was old and tired, both figuratively and literally.

YODO (you only die once) is in full swing. Living everyday. Making the most of whatever time I have here with no regrets and optimistic about a future that is as unknown as a newborns outlook. So as new beginnings blossom, thank you for your continued love and support.
